I am submitting this family portrait favorite into the “Rock the Shot” contest this month which has the theme of silhouettes.  I have a lot of favorite silhouette photos, but this has to be my latest fav… I just love the feeling of camaraderie and love this family exudes. This was one of the last shots of the day from this fun and fabulous family session…I saw the setting sun low in the sky and the beautiful colors from the sunset  and had them “play” pass around with their sweet baby one more time…brought my exposure down about a stop and boom! There were a few other fun ones you can see on their original blog post here.  Check out the other fabulous silhouette submissions at www.rocktheshotforum.com by clicking here!

Although I was very sad to have some of my favorite clients and friends to leave Orange County for the Temecula Valley, they couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful place to take up residence! I think I could just move in with them and be happy as can be!  Sage Ranch is a beautiful place to be and a gorgeous setting for portraits!   And I am so grateful to Renee for making it available and beautiful for us with her magical styling touch!  And the twins in their adorable lion costume did not disappoint. I just love these girls – and I love that they know me so well – one of the many perks of repeat clients!    Cast your vote for these very deserving girls by commenting below – they need a new canvas for their new house!  Note to Renee – I know you’ve been impatiently stalking this blog, waiting for your post – it’s finally here! I just posted in the order I took the pictures in, so sorry you were last!

Lance is my fabulous assistant Sheena’s son, and adopted brother to my 3 kids.  Many a day will my world be filled with the sounds of 4 children casting spells and galavanting around the house, playing Harry Potter.   My own son has read the books more than once, and they’ve all seen at least a few of the movies. They play for hours at this game.  And Lance is usually dressed for the part – so naturally, he already had a costume ready for Halloween this year.  Doesn’t he make a perfect Harry Potter?  The only bummer was when he broke his wand there at the ranch.. nothing a little bit of tape couldn’t hold together!  Cast your vote by commenting below for Lance to win his mom a gorgeous canvas!

This was my third shoot with the “M” family, each one has been very different and I have loved every time we’ve gotten together!  “B” has the longest, most luscious hair I’ve ever seen on such a little girl, and “S” has a smile to light up the world!  They are each so beautiful in their own way. You can see images from their birthday party earlier in the year right here! Their first session was at the beach, so it was fun to have them in more of a fall setting!  As always, it was a joy!  Leave your comments below to help the “M” family win a new 16×20 gallery wrapped canvas for their home!

This lovely family came out to our “Halloween” mini sessions to have their family portraits taken.  “T” & “A” were adorable in their little pink outfits, and I think mom and dad had a good time too!   I remember “T” from “the twins’” birthday parties and had always hoped for the chance to take her portraits … it turns out her little sister is just as cute!  Even without traditional Halloween costumes, their session fee qualifies them for the contest for the 16×20 Gallery Wrap Canvas – so enter your vote by commenting below!

I was so glad the “K” family came all the way up from Orange County to Temecula to visit the beautiful Sage Ranch and have their portraits taken!  Little “J” was so adorable in his racecar driver costume and his little sister “C” couldn’t be cuter – I’ve been wanting to get my camera on her for a while now!  And while they were there, we got a few of the whole family as well!  Leave your comment to vote for the beautiful family and help them win a gorgeous 16×20 Gallery Wrapped Canvas…

Little miss “L” also had an amazing costume!  She was Marie Antoinette – and she made for a perfect one at that!  She even brought her own cake, and Renee made a little set styled just for her to go along with her costume and the theme of “Let them eat cake!”  So perfect!  Leave your comments to vote for “L”  – and maybe she’ll end up with a beautiful canvas in her gorgeous costume!

Isn’t she a beauty?  And I loved her elaborate costume – every detail was attended to, from the multi-layered apron to the bracelets and necklace.  She even had cards and a crystal ball!  Leave your comments below to help her win a fabulous 16x1o Gallery Wrapped Canvas!
