This session felt jinxed from the beginning. Having had to be rescheduled due to bad weather, we made a second go at it last Thursday!  This sweet family wanted to do photos at Crystal Cove State Park because they live right there in Newport Coast.  But there wasn’t enough time to properly submit for a permit to shoot there and Crystal Cove State Park requires a permit from the CA Film Commission. I told them we could give it a try to get some shots at their own stomping grounds, but there would be a chance we’d be cited or asked to leave. Sure enough, not two candids into our session we were approached and asked for our permit and then made to leave. Bummer. But fortunately for us, Shaw’s Cove is just a hop, skip and a jump down the beach from Crystal Cove and is a beautiful setting for portraits. So, in spite of our unlucky beginnings, we were able to capture some beautiful memories, in a beautiful location on the coast of Laguna Beach. I think the end result was well worth all of the hassles! Enjoy your sneak peek “C” family!

Can you tell that these folks really love each other… and they love to play… a lot? All of my favorite images from this session were the ones where they were interacting, playing, loving each other and enjoying their visit to the beach…not posing.  Hugs, tickles, ring-around-the-rosies, chasing waves…of course the fun and games all ended once the waves almost swallowed the littlest one up. But everyone thoroughly enjoyed their lovely sunny evening at the beach, as you can clearly see!

The Christmas season is in full swing and I have a record number of last minute (or last few weeks) sessions to get out and edited this time around! Which means blog posts long on photos and short on words!  I loved the fun props brought to this session and this adorable family!  I think we rescheduled this session 3 times for weather, but scored on a beautiful afternoon when it was finally not raining on us! We ended up fitting in a Senior portrait session for Alex as well, and they all turned out beautifully! Enjoy your sneak peek!

After shooting Angelica and Kevin’s engagement portraits, they wanted to know if we could take a few head shots as well for work or portfolio. So we kind of combined the sessions into one and just got a few individual portraits after the couple shots – and they pretty fun and unique. It also helps having such great looking clients!

I love that I get to meet so many folks from out of town for my work. And I think that I’ve had more clients from Arizona than any other state this summer! And who can blame them! My own folks live in Arizona and they look for just about any opportunity to come and visit during the hot summer months!  This lovely couple was taking advantage of their escape from the summer heat out here to get their engagement photos done at Shaw’s Cove in Laguna Beach. Arent’ they adorable? I think so! And up for everything…even perfect strangers jumping into their photos and posing with them just for fun. You never know what wild and crazy things might happen on a session in Laguna!  After getting lots of them together, we got some individual head shots which I’ll post next!

“The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another human being with whom one’s relationship has a growing depth, beauty, and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing; it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of divine accident, and the most wonderful of all things in life.”

Aaron and Holly traveled here from Las Vegas to celebrate 10 wonderful years of marriage – and wanted to have some romantic portraits taken for the occasion. So we met at Shaw’s Cove in Laguna Beach for a lovely evening together.  They truly made my job easy, because they are beautiful inside and out..and their love for each other was so apparent! My most difficult job with this session was narrowing down my favorites… I’ll let the images speak for themselves! Enjoy your sneak peek! There are lots more lovely coming very soon to your gallery!

So, after trying for the better part of Spring to set up a portrait session the the gorgeous and photogenic “M” family, we finally found a date that worked for everyone! And what a great time we had!  Perfect light, a nearly empty beach at Shaw’s Cove in Laguna Beach, warm water and sunshine…and a very fun-loving family – made for a great combination. I don’t think anyone in this family knows how to take a bad picture, and that makes my job just so much easier! The hardest part of this session was narrowing down my favorites! Finally had to just randomly pick from many favorites – lots more are in their gallery. So, here you go guys! Enjoy!

My grandfather on my mother’s side and Alisha’s grandfather were twins. So I guess that makes us second cousins or something like that. We had many overlapping summer stays in the lovely town of Glendale, Utah growing up and this last summer while my kids were enjoying a stay of their own with their grandparents, Alisha’s kids came out to stay at the same time. It was so fun for them to have cousins to play with – cousins they had never met. Well, we had another opportunity to get together when Alisha brought her family to CA to visit last month. We planned a photo session well in advance, and ended up having them all over to stay the night at our place! What a fun slumber party that was! I had lots of extra helpers making pancakes the next morning :) But the session was also fun, as these kids don’t get to visit the beach very often. It was a bit of a novelty, but in spite of that everyone was so well behaved! Enjoy your sneak peek “M” family!

What a fun family this was – 7 children, 18 grandchildren… and around 34 or so people all together – I lost count after a while!  And a beautiful family at that…all of them!  All together at the beach for a fun day in the sun!  We photographed one family after another and finally everyone together.  And everyone was amazingly cooperative!  thanks for making my job easier and for the great time we spent together!
