I will be hosting my 3rd annual Valentine’s mini sessions at the beautiful Sage Ranch in the Temecula Valley this year!  Included in your session fee will be at least two digital images and your choice of Valentine’s day props: a beautiful pony & carriage or bareback pony*, angel wings, tutus and pettiskirts, vintage carriage, flowers and balloons. I am truly delighted (even overjoyed) to see a weather forecast predicting sun for this weekend!  As much as I LOVE the rain  -and especially the resulting greenery – I don’t love having so many photo sessions rained out, and it seems to happen every weekend! But this weekend should bring sun – and that perfectly compliments the beauty that is Laguna Canyon!  I recently discovered the happiness that is shooting in the less manicured, rugged beauty of this canyon on this photo shoot:

So here is one of the many “excuses” I have for not posting that I restrained from enumerating in my most recent blog post.  One reason is that I have been thinking about and working on a new logo/identity/branding for a long time and I really didn’t want to post more images without my new brand in place!  So I have been waiting to finish it up.  The other reason it just that, well, it’s taken a lot of time!  But the time has been well spent (I think), and not just by me. In fact, the time (on this logo at least) has been primarily spent by a very talented graphic designer, Micah Player.  You can check out his work at www.paperrifle.com!

The biggest hindrance to this whole process has been my inherent inablilty to narrow things down and closing off options.  That has been the difficulty with defining my brand and my style as well.  I don’t want to be locked into one genre.  I love orchestrating old fashioned or vintage whimsical portraits with a timeless feeling – but I also really like to capture the more contemporary, chic, fun, straight out of a magazine look as well.  So my logo needed to be something that captured the essence of all the facets of my work and personality.  Now if only I can decide on a color scheme…
