Little Baby “N” came into my Newport Beach studio at 5 weeks old and was not the sleepiest baby ever – in fact I don’t think we were able to get one “classic” newborn sleeping baby shot. But he was just so good! And check out those gorgeous “baby blues!” This was really more of a combination family and newborn photo session, and baby “N’s” big brother was turning on the charm every chance he got – trying to steal the show! And he obviously adored his new little brother! Thanks so much for your patience waiting for this sneak peek!

Santa Baby {Orange County Newborn Photographer}
Kristen (this adorable baby’s momma) and I have been friends since we were 12 years old or thereabouts. And not just friends. We drove every morning together to school and seminary, spent many a late night working on school projects and hanging out on the trampoline and when it was time to leave the nest and go to college, we were roommates until Kristen got herself married! And oh, the adventures we had together at BYU. I could go on and on about that, but I won’t because it wouldn’t interest most of you, and it’s late besides. So I was more than thrilled to capture newborn portraits of her 5th, and probably last child, sweet baby Samuel. She and her mom came up to my place when he was just 6 days old – the perfect age to take newborn pictures! And what a sweetie pie he was. Sleeping by the tree in his little Santa hat. In spite of tons of commotion going on all around him. Thanks Kristen for sharing that special day with me! Enjoy your photos of sweet little Samuel!

Sweet Baby Olivia
Last month I had the honor of meeting and photographing sweet baby Olivia! This was my first newborn session in my new home studio, and it was so nice not to have to pack up all of my lights and baby gear to do this session. She gave us a run for our money though… in spite of yawning almost every time I clicked the shutter, Olivia simply did not want to sleep. Normally that’s a problem, but in this case, Olivia was perfectly content to be photographed wide awake, and we did not hear a peep from the the entire time (unless she was hungry). Finally, just as we were about to give up on the sleeping shots, she gave up fighting and drifted off to sleep, so we were able to get plenty of those as well! She was so cooperative about the entire process – such a sweetheart in every possible way. Since this was the first newborn session in my new studio (and because we got so many fantastic images), there will be more than the traditional 7-12 sneak peek images – beware for image overload! And enjoy your Sneak Peek Shannon!

My adorable little friend Maren finally got her baby brother! You can see her gorgeous mommy’s maternity pictures here. Unfortunately, our session was right during little
Liam’s fussiest time of day (which really wasn’t all that fussy – he is such a good baby) but we weren’t able to get any of my favorite sleeping newborn poses in. Fortunately, he has such beautiful, bright eyes and we got to see a fair amount of those! And Maren was popping in and out of all of the pictures, trying (often successfully) to steal the spotlight. Enjoy your sneak peak, Maura!

Lovely Lily {Newport Beach Newborn Photography}
This is another “long in coming” tribute to a session from last summer that did not get its due on my blog…I was privileged to meet her within hours of being born and it has been such a delight to watch her grow. Here is what I wrote way back when for the blog post I never posted…
…What a sweet new baby this was … and so eagerly anticipated by me! I was so excited for my good friend Danielle to have a sweet little girl… and for Brandon, Maren, Tommy and Jimmy to have a new little sister – but especially for Maren. And what a good sweet baby she is…one of my easiest newborns ever. And so cute and chubby… she weighed in at 11 lbs 3 oz at birth, so I believe her mom deserves quite an award for delivering her! She was such a good girl for her pictures, and even had several smiles to share!
There will be several more updates to come of this little cutie pie – most recently from last week. But I felt I had to start at the beginning, so here goes:
These were from her first evening of life at the hospital… I captured one to show her weight – she had lost some since her birth… what a big girl!
