I have been blessed in many ways to have Dan Hunter in my life. Not only is he a very excellent attorney, but he has a very photogenic and sweet family as well! They all take just gorgeous photos! And as a bonus, I always end up getting some fabulous Mexican food after every session! If you know of anyone looking for a great family law attorney, he comes highly recommended! Check out his website here, and then enjoy this small sneak peek of the recent head shots we took for his new website!

I have photographed Morgan before and it was so much fun! And even Ron (the dad) is a pretty good sport about pictures! We took them at the Lab (Anti-mall) in Costa Mesa. I thought I had blogged them a long time ago, but was looking for their post and couldn’t find it. So this isn’t really a sneak peek seeing as they now have their prints and everything ordered, but hey – better late than never, right?! Enjoy!

I knew this would be an interesting shoot when I got the call….come take photos for a book. A book produced by IGC of their team members in their own working environments. So I got to see what Ian does, which looks a lot to me like playing with diamonds all day! What a fun job! Oh, and while I was there, I got to take some photos of their cats! But we’ll introduce them soon. This post is all about Ian (with one or two shots of his lovely wife Cynthia), doing what they do best from their home in Newport Beach!

For the last year I’ve had the privilege of having my artwork grace the walls of the newest office for this wonderful group of doctors. They have an amazing, state of the art clinic and I have gotten to know the staff and some of the doctor’s personally. So I was more than happy to update their staff portrait to something a little more casual and less formal than the professional portrait they already have. Getting this many busy doctors together in one place at one time outside of work can be a challenge, but they were up to it! We met at the backyard of one doctor in one of my favorite places to be – Nellie Gale Ranch! Such a lovely setting – too bad the weather wasn’t cooperating (hoping for the lovely blue skies that dominated most of last week!).
Check out their fabulous and informative website HERE and the special offer I have for their clients for my Baby Plan on my website here! And see their new group professional photos here below.

Some head shots on the side {Orange County Head Shots}
After shooting Angelica and Kevin’s engagement portraits, they wanted to know if we could take a few head shots as well for work or portfolio. So we kind of combined the sessions into one and just got a few individual portraits after the couple shots – and they pretty fun and unique. It also helps having such great looking clients!

Even as a very young child, reading was my most favorite activity. I loved reading about anything and everything – from fantasy novels that would take me far away to another land and place, to medical encyclopedias, to fanciful picture books – I devoured the written word. So maybe that inherent love of books is what draws the authors to me. But no matter what it is, I love the opportunity to take head shots for authors so that their readers can get an idea of who they are. This is the fourth author I have photographed in the last year, and we had a great time! We met at the Katie Wheeler Library in Irvine – a fitting place to take portraits for a writer of books, but also a lovely location for any sort of session I think! They even allowed us to shoot inside with the books! I am super excited for Christine as her new book is released! Enjoy your sneak peek!

I had the most amazing time this weekend with Misha and her gorgeous Connemara mare, Gem ( who is also a Reserve Champion for her breed) and he very lovely Arabian gelding, Willing. We hit it off on so many levels – Misha is a Senior in High School with big plans to follow her father’s footsteps and go to Vet School (which was just like me at that age – I actually graduated with a 4 year degree in Veterinary Technology, not photography). Misha also competes in hunter/jumper classes and has ridden dressage (also what I was doing at that age) and adores riding her grey Arab gelding (which I still do to this day!) So I was having a blast the entire time – holding and playing with the horses as much as I was shooting! Of course it was only natural, given her love of horses and riding that she have her Senior portraits taken with her riding companions in equine form! We met at the back end of Santiago Oaks Regional Park in Orange where we enjoyed beautiful trails, gorgeous scenery and lovely light as well…I haven’t even had a chance to look through all of the images we took from this session, but a few leaped out at me as I was downloading them that night, and I couldn’t resist editing just a couple of them. This truly will be a “sneak peek” as I haven’t even seen all of the images yet, and there were so many fun ones that I am pretty certain to want to blog more of this session later. But for now, here is a little tiny peak into the wonderful time that was had by all last Friday evening!

Fabulous & fluffy friends {Orange County Pet Photographer}
I knew right off the bat that I had a lot in common with this new client! Mika is a vet who will be opening up her new practice in Japan in the coming year. She really wanted some professional head shots, but also some portraits showing her interacting with some animals to display in her office! It was very apparent that she has a great rapport with the pets and gets along well with all animals. She brought with her a beautiful, but ancient cat – her beloved Rio – who looks amazing for her age! And was probably the easiest cat I have ever photographed. We were also happy to provide some other lovely pups as models for this shoot – thanks Scott and Rebecca for lending your dogs, Lola and Jango. They were quite charming models! And Mika – thanks so much for your patience! Enjoy your sneak peek and your gallery will be up momentarily!

Chic Magazine is having a photo cover contest, and although it’s a long shot (there are a lot of fabulous photographer’s entering), I knew I had the perfect cover girl for a model -so I had to try! It’s always fun to compete a little bit and learn from other photographer’s as well, and the Chic Critique forum is a fabulous resource for photographers to be able to do just that. If you want to stop by their site and see what they have to offer, just click on their name at the beginning of this post!
